Take a short walk from our property and visit The Pierres Blanches mill which was built in 1801, just after the French Revolution, according to a date on the lintel of one of its windows. Its plan is classical, with a round tower and a rotating head, like most Charente mills.
It belonged to the Baud family, a large and very old milling family who owned several mills in Villafagnan. It appears to have already been in poor condition in 1874. The municipality purchased the ruined tower in 1995, and in 2000, the mill regained its cap, sails, and mechanism. It is one of the few restored windmills in Charente, among many towers in varying degrees of ruin.
If you enjoy cycling you will find route 32 right outside our gates.
